RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PO-195-86 be received; and
* 2. THAT the By-law attached to this Report be approved in accordance with Resolution
#C-412-86.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On May 20, 1986, the General Purpose and Administration Committee resolved (Resolution
#GPA-478-86) that Rezoning Application DEV 86-15 be approved, and that the by-law to
rezone the subject lands be forwarded to Council for approval at such time as the related
Official Plan Amendment is approved by the Region of Durham. This resolution was
subsequently endorsed by Council at its May 27, 1986 meeting (Resolution #C-412-86).
The related Official Plan Amendment (File: 86-19/ND) was recommended for approval by
Regional Planning Committee on July 8, 1986 as Amendment No. 23 to the Darlington Township
Official Plan and Modification No. 3 to the Town of Newcastle Official Plan . Regional
Council approved the Official Plan Amendment on July 16, 1986.

* It is therefore recommended that the By-law attached to this Report to
rezone the subject lands to permit the development of a maximum of 1100
square metres of commercial and personal service floor space be apprved in
accordance with Resolution #C-412-86.
