APPOINTMENT OF INSPECTORS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended to Council the following:
1. THAT Report EGD-34-03 be received;
THAT the by-law attached to this report be passed, amending By-Law 2002-091 as follows:
a) THAT the name "Joe Bonura" be deleted from Schedule 'B' of By-law
2002-091
b) THAT Miss Kim Laing be appointed as Inspector for the
Municipality of Clarington effective Monday, September 22,2003, and
that her name be added to Schedule 'B' of By-Law 2002-091;
c) THAT Mr. Duane Tyte be appointed as Fire Inspector for the Municipality of
Clarington effective Monday, September 22, 2003, and that his name be added to
Schedule 'D' of By-Law 2002-91.

1.0 REVIEW AND COMMENT
1.1 Mr. Joe Bonura has resigned from Clarington to pursue other employment.
1.2 Miss Kim Laing has graduated from George Brown College with a diploma in
Architectural Technology. Her position with Clarington will consist of reviewing building
plans and issuing building permits.
1.3 Mr. Duane Tyte has a diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology from Seneca
College and has worked for eight years in the fire prevention field. His position will
consist of inspecting fire safety requirements for the Municipality of Clarington.

THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON
BY-LAW 2003-
Being a By-law respecting the appointment of a Chief
Building Official, Building Inspectors, Plumbing Inspectors
and Fire Safety Inspectors.
WHEREAS Subsection 2 of Section 3 of the Building Code Act. S.O. 1992, c.23
as amended. empowers Council to pass certain by-laws respecting the
appointment of a Chief Building Official. Building Inspectors. Plumbing Inspectors
and Fire Safety Inspectors.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of
Clarington hereby enacts as follows:
1. The person shown on Schedule "A" to this By-law is hereby appointed
as Chief Building Official for the Municipality of Clarington.
2. The persons listed on Schedule "B" to this By-law are hereby appointed
as Building Inspectors for the Municipality of Clarington.
3. The persons listed on Schedule "C" to this By-law are hereby
appointed as Plumbing Inspectors for the Municipality of Clarington.
4. The persons listed on Schedule "0" to this By-law are hereby
appointed as Inspectors for the purpose of reviewing plans and
performing inspections related to fire access routes, fire alarms, fire
detections and suppression systems as may be required under the
Building Code Act, 1992 and Regulations thereto.
5. That By-law 2002-091 and all amendments thereto are hereby
repealed.
This By-law shall come into effect on the date of passing hereof.
BY-LAW read a first and second time this 29th day of September 2003.
BY-LAW read a third time and finally passed this 29"' day of September 2003.
