SUBJECT: TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
OFFICIAL PLANS

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . That Report PD-104-85 be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
On May 21 , 1985, the General Purpose and Administration Committee
considered Staff Report PD-83-85 in respect of proposed amendments
to the Darlington, Bowmanville and Newcastle Village Official
Plans. The subject amendments were advertised in the five (5)
papers having local circulation on June 5, 1985. As of the date of
writing, Town Staff have received only one inquiry with respect to
the proposed amendments.
The subject amendments were circulated to the Regional Municipality
of Durham, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the
Town 's Public Works Department for comment, all of which have been
received and are presently being reviewed.

Following consideration of any submissions made by the public at
the public meeting scheduled pursuant to Council direction, Staff
will be incorporating a number of the proposed modifications and
will submit the revised amendments for the Committee 's
consideration on July 15, 1985.
