THAT Report PD-154-85 be received; and 2. THAT the Ministry of municipal Affairs and Housing be advised that the Town of Newcastle has no objection to the extension of draft plan approval for Subdivision 18T-76021 for a further one year period to December 30, 1986. v C�� REPORT NO. : PD-154-85 Page 2 BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: On September 24, 1985, the Planning Department received a copy of a letter (attached) from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing addressed to Crotin, Palter, the solicitors acting for Mr. S. Gudja. The letter indicates that the draft plan approval of Subdivision 18T-76021 will lapse on December 30, 1985. Staff have reviewed the status of the proposed subdivision and it is recommended that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing be advised that the Town of Newcastle has no objection to the extension of draft plan approval for Subdivision 18T-76021 for a further one (1 ) year period to December 30, 1986. If you are interested in pursuing final approval please send us a request for draft approval extension, with reasons, in advance of the • lapsing date, with copies to the municipal and regional planning departments. In order to identify any potential, problems I recommend that you also discuss the extension with the municipal planning department. By a copy of this letter we are asking the municipality and the region to advise us of their position on your request. If we do not hear from them we will assume they have no objection. If there are any concerns with the requested extension we will contact you in advance of the lapsing, date. Please remember that once draft approval has lapsed, it cannot be reinstated.
