BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
For the information of the General Purpose and
* Administration Committee, staff have prepared the attached
list of applications to the Committee of Adjustment for the
meeting of October 9, 1985. This list includes the file
number, applicant's name, site location, type of variance
requested, Official Plan conformity, By-law conformity,
staff' s comments on the applications, and the Committee of
Adjustment's decision.

APPLICATIONS:
A 37/85 - Frank and Eva Hoar, Lot 28, Concession 1 , Newcastle Village.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to create a lot with a frontage of
16.7 m, instead of the required 18 m frontage, and an area of
640 sq m, instead of the required 650 sq m.
Ed Vanhaverbeke appeared in support of this application. No other
person appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mrs. Payne, seconded by Mr. Muir,
"THAT as the proposed variance would not appear
to offend the intent of the Official Plan or
Zoning By-law or have a detrimental effect on
the surrounding properties, this variance is
considered minor in nature and therefore
permission is GRANTED to create a lot with
a frontage of 16.7 m and an area of 640 m2."

Committee of Adjustment Meeting, October 9, 1985. . . . .
A 38/85 - Robert and Mary Gill , Lot 29, Concession 2, Newcastle Village.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to expand a legal non-conforming dwelling
by the construction of an attached garage in an E. P. zone.
Mrs. Gill appeared in support of this application. No other person
appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mr. Murdoch, seconded by Mr. Reicheld,
"THAT as the proposed expansion of a legal non-
conforming dwelling does not appear to offend the
intent of the Official Plan or Zoning By-law and
would not appear to have a detrimental effect on
the surrounding area, permission is GRANTED to
expand a legal non-conforming dwelling by the
construction of an attached garage leaving a
front yard of 2.59 m. "

OTHER BUSINESS:
Moved by Mr. Reicheld, seconded by Mr. Muir,
"THAT Applications A 39/85 and A 40/85 be
deferred to the next meeting of the Committee
of Adjustment in order for the applicants to
be present for further explanations."

Moved by Mrs. Payne, seconded by Mr. Reicheld,
"THAT J. P. Murdoch be appointed as acting
chairman in the absence of Mr. Rehder. "

Moved by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Murdoch,
"THAT the minutes of the last meeting be
approved as circulated. "
"CARRIED"
Appeal date for the foregoing applications is November 8, 1985.
Next meeting of the Committee of Adjustment is October 30, 1985.
