SUBJECT: EXTENSION OF DRAFT APPROVAL - REMLARK HOLDINGS LTD.
PART LOT 35, CONCESSION 2, FORMER TWP. OF DARLINGTON

RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. THAT Report PD-159-85 be received; and
2. THAT Council adopt the following resolution:
"The Council of the Town of Newcastle hereby
requests the Minister of Municipal Affairs and
Housing to extend the draft plan approval for
Subdivision 18T-79038 for a further one year
period to January 29, 1987"; and
3. THAT the request in 2 above be forwarded to the
Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and that
Remlark Holdings Limited be so advised.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
* A copy of the attached letter was received by the Planning and
Development Department on October 16, 1985. The letter addressed
to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, from Mr. Mark
Foley, states that the draft plan approval of the above-mentioned
plan will lapse on January 29, 1986. In reviewing this matter
Staff would have no objection to the approval of a further one year
extension in draft plan approval of 18T-79038.

Lapsing of Draft Approval - January 29, 1986

Thank you for your letter of October 11, 1985 which we acknowledge receiving
October 16, 1985.
Please be advised we are in the process of completing the engineering design
and the final plan of subdivision for the above subject property. It is our
Intention to proceed with a phase of the development in the very near future,
and complete the balance of the project shortly thereafter.
In order to permit its sufficient time to arrange our final approvals, we would
sincerely appreciate your indulgence in permitting an extension to the Draft
Approval for 12 months, to January 29, 1987.
