RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. THAT Report PD-166-85 be received; and
2. THAT an application submitted by Mr. William M. Rudell on behalf of Wilsmap Limited
to rezone a parcel of land in Town Lots 25, 26, Part Lots 27, 113, 114 & 117, Block
"U" , C.G. Hanning's Plan, Town of Bowmanville to permit the development of a dry
cleaning distribution centre and plant, be received and referred to Staff for
processing and a subsequent report and public hearing.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On October 25, 1985, the Planning Department received an application, submitted by Mr. W.
Rudell on behalf of Wilsmap Limited to rezone a parcel of land located in Town Lots 25 and
26, Part Lots 27, 113, 114, 117, Block "U", C.G. Hanning's Plan, Town of Bowmanville (see
* attached) . The submission of the rezoning application is to permit the development of a
dry cleaning distribution centre and plant.
The application has been circulated to various agencies and Town departments for their
* comments (see attached) .

It is noted for the Committee' s information that, in consideration of the use
proposed, Staff has requested additional information from the applicant pertaining
to the nature/type of cleaning, machinery etc. proposed. To that end, Staff have
requested that the applicant provide the Ministry of Environment with a copy of
this supporting documentation. Staff would also note that, in consideration of the
various occupancy/use requirements of the Ontario Building Code, additional
information has been requested with respect to the applicant's proposed means of
satisfying the Building Code requirements.
It is recommended that the application be received for information and referred
back to Staff for a subsequent report. At such time as the necessary circulation
has been completed, Staff shall schedule this application for a public meeting of
the General Purpose and Administration Committee pursuant to the requirements of
the Planning Act.

The Town of Newcastle Planning and Development Committee is considering an
application for an amendment to Zoning By-law #84-63 and, pursuant to its procedure
for processing applications, wishes to obtain your comments before submitting its
recommendations to the Town of Newcastle General Purpose and Administration
Committee for the meeting.
