SUBJECT: REZONING APPLICATION - GORDON GARROD
PART LOT 29, CONCESSION 2, NORTH ST. , VILLAGE OF NEWCASTLE

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-171-85 be received; and
2. THAT the application submitted by Gordon Garrod to permit a residential use on a
7,169 sq.ft. parcel of land located in Part Lot 29, Concession 2, North Street,
in the Village of Newcastle be received and referred to Staff for processing and
a subsequent report and public hearing.

BACKGROUND AND
COMMENT:
On October 28, 1985 the Planning Department received an application submitted by Gordon
Garrod for a rezoning to permit the construction of a residential building located
within the "Environmental Protection (EP)" zone in Part of Lot 29, Concession 2, North j
Street, in the Village of Newcastle.
The application has been circulated to various agencies and Town Departments for their
* comments and attached is a copy of the circulation letter, key map and comments from the
Ganaraska Conservation Authority for Council ' s information.

It is recommended that the application be received for information and referred
back to Staff for a subsequent report. At such time as the necessary
circulation has been completed, Staff will schedule this application for a
public meeting of the General Purpose and Administration Committee pursuant to
the requirements of the Planning Act.

The Town of Newcastle Planning and Development Committee is considering an

for processing applications, wishes to obtain your comments before submitting its
recommendations to the Town of Newcastle General Purpose and Administration
Committee for the meeting.
