HomeMy WebLinkAboutPD-253-88 DN: 253-88 TOWN OF NEWCASTLE REPORT File # Res. # By-Law # MEETING: General Purpose and Administration Committee DATE: Monday, November 21, 1988 REPORT #: PD-253-88 FILE #: 18T-88054 SUBJECT: APPLICATION FOR SUBDIVISION APPROVAL FRAB INVESTMENTS LIMITED PART LOT 1, CONCESSION 1, CITY OF OSHAWA FILE: 18T-88054 I RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report PD-253-88 be received; and 2. THAT the City of Oshawa be advised that the Town of Newcastle has no objections to the proposed Plan of Subdivision 18T-88054; and 3. THAT a copy of this Report be forwarded to the City of Oshawa Planning Department and the Region of Durham Planning Department. 1. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: I 1.1 On July 28, 1988 the Town of Newcastle Planning and Development Department received notice of an application for approval of a Plan of Subdivision, submitted by Frab Investments Limited. The subject site is located on the west side of Townline Road South, adjacent to the Town of Newcastle westerly limits, and approximately 50 metres south of Kingsway Gate. . . .2 i REPORT N0. : PD-353-88 PAGE 2 _______________________________________________________________________________ 1.2 The proposal would permit the development of eleven (II) single family dwelling lots. Four (4) of the proposed lots would have direct access onto Towuliue Road South; the balance would have access onto a proposed cul-de-sac. 2. STAFF COMMENTS: 2.1 Planning Staff have reviewed the application in terms of impact to adjacent lands within the Town of Newcastle and do not have any nuocecoa with this proposal. Access will be onto u Regional Road and any improvements to this road, will not affect Town roads or ce000coea. 3.2 Public Works Department Staff have also reviewed this application and find the separation distance between the proposed cul-de-sac access to TovmzIiue Road South and Kiugaway Gate acceptable. Works Staff have no objection to said application. 3. RECOMMENDATION: Ioaamoob as the application would appear to have no impact to the western boundary of Newcastle or the development in this area, Staff would have no objection to approval of the proposed Plan of Subdivision IOT-88054.
