THAT Report PD-268-88 be received; and 2. THAT Staff be authorized to circulate the draft Hamlet Development Plans prepared by The Proctor and Redfern Group for Hampton and Orono to various agencies for comment; and 3. THAT Staff be further authorized to hold Public Open Houses in Hampton and Orono to obtain public comments on the draft Hamlet Development Plans. 1. HAMLET DEVELOPMENT PLANS ? I i 1.1 In February, 1988, the Town retained the consulting firm of Proctor and Redfern to prepare Hamlet Development Plans for the hamlets of Hampton and Orono. The plans as prepared by Proctor and Redfern are attached to this 1 report as Attachment Nos. 1 and 2. .. .2 i REPORT NO. : PD-268-88 PAGE 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.2 Staff is satisfied with the Hamlet Development Plans for Hampton and Orono as submitted by Proctor and Redfern and recommend that they be accepted by the Town for public circulation and comment. 1.3 The circulation list of agencies is attached hereto as Attachment No. 3. It is expected that all agency comments would be received within ninety (90) days. 1.4 Staff is also seeking authorization to hold Public open Houses in Hampton and Orono to obtain the public's comments on the draft hamlet development plans. Public open houses are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, January 25, 1989 for the Hampton Community Hall and Monday, January 30, 1989 for the Orono Town Hall. Notices advising of the open houses will be placed in local newspapers and mailed to all persons within the boundaries of the proposed Hamlet Plans approximately two (2) weeks prior to the open houses. Notice will also be provided to developers with applications in the hamlets. 1.5 Copies of the proposed Hamlet Plans will also be on display prior to the open houses in the Town Hall and in the respective Hamlet Post Offices. 1.6 Once Staff have reviewed all agency and public comments on the draft hamlet plans, Public Meetings as required under the Planning Act will be scheduled and the final Hamlet Development Plans for Hampton and Orono presented to Council for approval.
