THAT Report PD-168-88 be received; and 2. THAT Council adopt the following resolution: "THAT Council of the Town of Newcastle hereby advises the Minister of Municipal Affairs that the Town of Newcastle has no objections to the extension of draft approval for Subdivision 18T-77041 for a further one (1) year period to August 15, 1989; "and 3. THAT the request in Recommendation No. 2 be forwarded to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and the Owner be so advised. 1. BACKGROUND: 1.1 A copy of the attached letter was received by the Planning and Development Department on July 11, 1988. The letter, addressed to Mr. Ilechukwum, noted that draft approval with respect to Plan 18T-77041 as revised will lapse on August 15, 1988 pursuant to the Planning Act unless an extension is granted . . .2 REPORT 00. : PD-168-88 PAGE 2 _______________________________________________________________________________ prior to the lapsing date. The Ministry is now considering to grant such an extension. Accordingly, Ministry Staff request confirmation of the status of the Plan of Subdivision as previously recommended for approval by the Town of Newcastle. 1.2 Staff would note for the Committee's information that a Development Agreement has been completed and sent to the applicant for execution thereof. 1.3 Zuaomuob as the approval date would lapse in the month of August, . Staff respectfully request Council's consideration of the draft extension. 1.4 In consideration of the above-noted comments, Staff vmxzld have no objections to the extension of draft plan approval for a further one (I) year period to August 15, 1989 with respect to Plan 18T-77041. If you are interested in pursuing final approval please send us- a reguect for extension of draft approval stating reasons, in advance of the lapsing date , with copies to the local area municipality and regional planning � departments . By a copy of this letter we are asking both local area and regional municipalities to advise us of their position un the extension cegueot . If we do not hear fco.m them we will assume they have no objections.
