SUE-JECT: EXTENSION OF DRAFT APPROVAL
SUNNY RIDGE CORPORATION (FORMERLY J. ZURBA)

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-125-88 be received; and
2. THAT Council adopt the following resolution:
"THAT the correspondence from the Region of Durham, dated May 18, 1988,
be received and the Region of Durham be advised that the Corporation
of the Town of Newcastle has no objections to the extension to the
draft plan approval of Plan 18T-81023, as revised May 23, 1984, to
July 9, 1989"; and
3. THAT the request in Condition No. 2 above, be forwarded to the Region of
Durham Planning Department and that Mr. A. Goheen, on behalf of Sunny
Ridge Corporation be so advised.
1. BACKGROUND:
1.1 A copy of the attached letter was received by the Planning and Development
Department on May 19, 1988. The letter, addressed to Staff, noted that
draft approval with respect to Plan 18T-81023 as revised will lapse on July
9, 1988 pursuant to the Planning Act unless an extension is granted prior to

the lapsing date. The Region is now considering to grant such an
extension. Accordingly, Regional Staff request confirmation of the
status of the Plan of Subdivision as previously recommended for
approval by the Town of Newcastle.
1.2 Staff would note for the Committee's information that a Development
Agreement has been completed and sent to the applicant for execution
thereof. It has not been returned to date, however, Staff would note
that all necessary amendments thereto would be initiated by Staff upon
receipt of same. The applicant has been advised of these comments.
1.3 In consideration of the above-noted comments, Staff would have no
objections to the extension of draft plan approval for a further one
(1) year period to July 9, 1989 with respect to Plan 18T-81023.

Please note that approval issued by the Region with respect to the
above referenced draft plan will lapse on July 9, 1988 pursuant to
the Planning Act unless an extension is granted prior to the lapsing
date.
The Region is now considering to grant such an extension. If there
is any reason the extension should not be given, please advise me
immediately. If we do not hear from you within 30 days, it would be
construed that your municipality has no objection to the extension.
