SUBJECT: APPLICATION FOR REZONING - FILE: DEV 84-39
REMLARK HOLDINGS LIMITED
PT. LOT 35, CONC. 2, FORMER TWP. OF DARLINGTON
PLAN OF SUBDIVISION - 18T-79038
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the
following :
1 . That Report PD-6-85 be received; and
2. That the application submitted by Remlark
Holdings Limited requesting the removal of the
(H) Holding symbol from a parcel of land in
Part of Lot 35, Concession 2, former Township
of Darlington , be received and referred to
Staff for processing and a subsequent report.

BACKGROUND:
On December 7, 1984, the Planning Department received an
application submitted by Remlark Holdings Limited, request-
ing the removal of the (H)Holding provision on a parcel of
land located in Part of Lot 35, Concession 2, former
* Township of Darlington (see attached).
With Section 3.9 "Holding Zone", the removal of said (H)
Holding symbol shall be upon Council 's being satisfied that
the uses to be permitted will be adequately serviced, the
lands to be used have adequate access, prior uses of the
land will not prevent the use of the land for the purposes
intended by the By-law, that the lands aand proposed uses
will be adequately protected from any physical or man-made
hazard or conditions associated with the lands, and that
agreements in respect of such matters and the associated
financial requirements where required, have been executed
with the Town of Newcastle and/or the Regional Municipality
of Durham.
The application has been circulated to various agencies and
* Town departments for their comments, and attached is a copy
of the circulation letter and key plan for Council 's
information.
It is recommended that the application be received for
information and referred back to staff for a subsequent
report.

The Town of Newcastle Planning and Development Committee is considering
an application for an amendment to Zoning By-law # 84-63 removing the
(H) Holding symbol and, pursuant to its procedure for processing
applications, wishes to obtain your comments before submitting its
recommendations to the Town of Newcastle General Purpose and
Administration Committee.
