Planning Planning Director Department Town of Newcastle r' Box 623 Municipal Offices 105 Consumers Dr. Hampton, Ontario Whitby,Ontario Canada, L1N 6A3 (416)668.7731 Dear Mr. Edwards: DR. M. R. MICHAEL, M.C.I.P. Commissioner of Planning Re: a) Cri teri a"for identifying Rural, Nodes & Clusters b) By-law No. 84-156,. Town of Newcastle File: 84-19/D and By-law 84-156 Further to your letter of December 11, 1984 , please be advised that we have no difficulty with the revised criteria for identifying rural nodes and clusters as attached to your letter. This new criteria removes the possibility of conflicts with the provisions of the Durham Regional Official Plan which existed with the old policy. We would suggest that the new criteria replace the existing policy which we understand has been adopted by your Council . I With respect to By-law No. 84-156 also attached to your letter, we have reviewed this matter and its approval would remove our earlier concerns with the proposed 'RC' zoning in part of Lot 22, Concession 3, former Township of Darlington . Furthermore, as agreed at the meeting, the proposed 'RC' zoning in part of Lot 26, Concession 2, former Township of Darlington is considered to be in conformity with the Durham Regional Official Plan. I trust you will find this satisfactory and would appreciate being advised when the revised criteria for identifying nodes and clusters has been adopted by your Council . If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact this Department. Yours very truly, Dr. M. Michael , M.C.
