That Report PD-23-85 be received; and 2. That the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing be advised that the Town of Newcastle has no objection to the extension of draft plan approval for Subdivision 18T-19720 for a further one year period to March 30, 1986; and 3. That Foster Creek Developments Limited be advised of Council 's decision. . . .2 REPORT NO. : PD-23-85 Page 2 BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: On January 8, 1985, the Planning Department was advised by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing that the draft approval of Plan of Subdivision 18T-19720 in Newcastle Village will lapse on March 30, 1985. Staff have also been advised that Foster Creek Developments Limited are purchasing the lands covered by the above-referenced Plan of Subdivision, effective as of January 31 , 1985. The new owners have requested an extension of the draft plan approval in order to provide the necessary additional time to proceed with the development. Staff have reviewed the possibility of extending draft approval for an additional one (1 ) year period. We note that draft approval has been extended on several occasions, with the most recent being given on March 14, 1984. However, given the recent purchase of the lands covered by the draft plan, Staff have no objection to a further one (1 ) year extension of draft approval . It is therefore recommended that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing be advised that the Town of Newcastle has no objection to the extension of draft plan approval for Subdivision 18T-19720 for a further one (1 ) year period to March 30, 1986. spectfully submitted, fDirector T.
