SUBJECT: APPLICATION FOR REZONING - M. MANGAR
PART LOT 28, CONCESSION 5, CLARKE

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . That Report PD-47-85 be received; and
2. That an application submitted by Mr. M. Mangar to
rezone a parcel of land in Part of Lot 28, Concession
5, former Township of Clarke to expand the uses
permitted in conjunction with the existing motor
vehicle service station be referred to Staff for
processing and subsequent report and public hearing.

BACKGROUND:
On March 6, 1985, the Planning Department received an application
submitted by Mr. M. Mangar to rezone a 0.03 hectare (0.07 acre)
parcel of land located in Part of Lot 28, Concession 5, former
* Township of Clarke (see attached). The purpose of the rezoning
would be to expand the uses permitted in conjunction with the
existing motor vehicle service station. The application also
involves the construction of an addition to the rear of the
existing garage building. The proposed development is subject to
site plan control .
The application has been circulated to various agencies and Town
* departments for their comments, and attached is a copy of the
circulation letter and key plan for Council 's information.
It is recommended that the application be received for information
and referred back to Staff for a subsequent report. At such time
as the necessary circulation has been completed, Staff shall
schedule this application for a public meeting of the General
Purpose and Administration Committee pursuant to the requirements
of the Planning Act.

The Town of Newcastle Planning and Development Committee is considering
an application for an amendment to Zoning By-law N84-63 and Site Plan
approval and, pursuant to its procedure for processing applications,
wishes to obtain your comments before submitting its recommendations to
the Town of Newcastle General Purpose and Administration Committee for
the meeting of May 6, 1985.
