SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO ZONING BY-LAW 84-63
SPECIAL EVENTS - SECTION 3.22 SUBSECTION (c)

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . That Report PD-77-85 be received; and
* 2. That the attached amendment to By-law 84-63 be
approved.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
On April 22nd, 1985, the Council resolved to direct Staff to
i
advertise the necessary amendment to By-law 84-63 to repeal
Section 3.22c) of By-law 84-63 relative to "special events". The
subject amendment was advertised on May 1, 1985 and pursuant to
Provincial Regulations, a Public Hearing was scheduled for today's
date.
* The attached by-law implements Council direction and Staff are
recommending its approval at this time.

BY-LAI4 NUMBER 85-
being a By-law to amend By-law 84-63, as amended, of the Town of
Newcastle.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle deems
it advisable to amend By-law 84-63, as amended.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Corporation of
the Town of Newcastle enacts as follows:
1. Section 3.22 of By-law 84-63, "SPECIAL USES PERMITTED", is
hereby amended by deleting Subsection (c) in its entirety.
2. This By-law shall come into effect on the date of passing
hereof, subject to the provisions of Section 34 of the Planning
Act.
