SUBJECT: SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT
APPLICATIONS FOR THE MEETING OF JUNE 5, 1985.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . That Report PD-96-85 be received for
information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
For the information of the General Purpose and Administration
* Committee, Staff have prepared the attached list of applications to
the Committee of Adjustment for the meeting of June 5, 1985. This
list includes the file number, applicant's name, site location, type
of variance requested, Official Plan Conformity, By-law Conformity,
Staff's comments on the applications and the Committee of Adjustment's
decision.

APPLICATIONS:
A 19/85= Ellison and Rosemary Tom linson,_Lot_ 9, . Conc.. 3,_Clarke.
Application was made fcr relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to construct a single family dwelling
leaving a front ye..rd of 2 m, instead of the required 6 m front yard.
Mr. & Mrs. Tomlinson appeared in support of this application. No
other person appeared in SL;pport of or in opposition to this
application.
Moved by Mrs. Payne, seconded by Mr. Murdoch,
"-THAT as the requested variance would appear to
maintain the intent of the Official Plan and
Zoning By-law and would not appear to have a
detrimental effect on the surrounding area, and
due to the contour of the land this variance
could be considered minor, therefore, permission
is GRANTED to construct a single family dwelling,
leaving a 2 m front yard. "

Committee of Adjustment Meeting, June 5, 1985. . . . . . . .
A 20/85 - Milton Bartley, Lot 13, Concession 1 , Bowmanville.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to construct an accessory. building
leaving a 2 ft. side yard and an exterior side yard of 17 ft. ,
instead of the required 1 .2 m (4 ft. ) interior side yard and 6 m
(19.7 ft. ) exterior side yard.
Mr. Bartley appeared in support of this application. No other
person appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mr. Murdoch, seconded by Mr. Reicheld,
THAT as the proposed variance does not appear to
offend the intent of the Zoning By-law or Official
Plan and due to the location on the lot would not
affect sight lines or have a detrimental effect on
surrounding properties, this application could be
considered minor and permission is GRANTED to construct
an accessory building leaving a 2 ft. interior side
yard and a 17 ft. exterior side yard. "

Moved by Mr. Murdoch, seconded by Mrs. Payne,
"THAT A. Reicheld be appointed as acting chairman for
the evening in the absence of Mr. Rehder. "

Moved by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Murdoch,
"THAT the minutes of the last meeting be approved
as circulated. "
"CARRIED"
Next meeting of the Committee of Adjustment is July 3, 1985.
Appeal date for the foregoing applications is July 5, 1985.
