MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 17, 1984

SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO DRAFT PLAN OF SUBDIVISION
OAKLAND DEVELOPMENTS - FILE: 18T-24002
PART LOT 18, CONC. 7, FORMER TWP. OF DARLINGTON
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the
following :
1 . That Report PD-158-84 be received; and
2. That the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and
Housing be advised that the Town of Newcastle
has no objections to the approval of the
revised Plan of Subdivision 18T-24002, dated
May 28, 1984 as further revised in red; and
3. That a copy of Report PD-158-84 be forwarded to
the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing
for information.

alleviate the existing situation of the laneway.
With respect to the deletion of Block 30, Staff would note
that any further development _to the south of the subject
property would require an amendment to the Hamlet Plan and
submission of a Plan of Subdivision at which time, access to
the property would be reviewed. The present location of
Block 30 would not appear to be supportive of extending such
to the south inconsideration of its proximity to Old Scugog
Road.
The requests of the Works Departments with respect to
horizontal curves and sight triangles, are the result of the
reviewing of the road design as proposed.
Staff would note for Committee's information, the
above-noted concerns have been discussed with the applicant
and indicated no objections to Staff's revisions.
Accordingly, Staff would have no objection to the approval
of the Plan as revised in red, in consideration of the
above-noted concerns.
