SUBJECT: APPLICATION FOR REZONING - F. DOCIMO
PART LOT 19, CONCESSION 2, DARLINGTON

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the
following :
1 . That Report PD-17-64 be received; and
2• That application submitted by Mr. F. Docimo to
rezone a 1,306 square metre parcel in Part Lot
19, Concession 2, former Township of
Darlington, to permit a Produce Food Market be
referred to Staff for a processing and
subsequent report and public hearing.

BACKGROUND:
On December 2.0, 1983, the Planning Department received an
application submitted by D. G. Riddle and Associates on
behalf of Mr. F. Docimo to rezone a 1 ,306 square metre
parcel of land in Part Lot 19, Concession 2, former Township
of Darlington (see attached map) . The purpose of the
rezoning would be to permit the development of a Produce
Food Market. Staff note that the proposal is also subject
to site plan approval .
The application has been circulated to various agencies for
* comment and attached is a copy of the circulation letter and
key plan for Council 's information.
It is recommended that the application be received for
information and referred back to Staff for a subsequent
report. At such time as the necessary circulatin has been
completed, staff shall schedule this application for a
public meeting of the General Purpose and Administration
Committee pursuant to the requirements of the Planning Act .
Staff would furthermore note for the Committee 's information
that an Official Plan Amendment to designate Maple Grove as
a Hamlet is presently before the Regional Municipality of
Durham. Accordingly, the approval of the requested By-law
will require the approval of the Official Plan Amendment.

The Town of Newcastle Planning and Development Committee is considering
an application for an amendment to Zoning By-law # 2111 and, pursuant
to its procedure for processing applications, wishes to obtain your
comments before submitting its recommendations to the Town of Newcastle
General Purpose and Administration Committee.
