BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On January 23, 1984, Council considered a letter from the
Foundation for Aggregate Studies regarding the proposed
Mineral Aggregate Resource Planning Policy. Council
resolved (Resolution #C-43-84) to refer the letter to Staff
for a Report to the General Purpose and Administration
Committee.
Staff note that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee considered the proposed Policy at its meeting of
January 16, 1984, through Staff Report PD-18-84. The Report
recommended that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and
Housing and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario be
advised that the Town has no objection to the proposed
Policy. Committee resolved (Resolution #GPA-65-84) to adopt
the recommendations in the Report. On January 23, 1984,
Council subsequently resolved (Resolution #C-50-84) to
endorse Committee 's decision .
It is therefore recommended that the Foundation for
Aggregate Studies be advised that the Town has no objection
to the proposed "Mineral Aggregate Resource Planning
Policy", and that a copy of Staff Report PD-18-84 be
forwarded to the Foundation.
