PROVISION OF ANIMAL SERVICES TO COBOURG. PORT HOPE. HAMILTON. ALNWICKlHALDIMAND The Clarington Animal Shelter was asked to assist Cobourg, Port Hope, Hamilton, AlnwicklHaldimand in providing animal services to them during the completion of the construction of their new animal shelter. Clarington Animal Shelter accepted their impounded dogs from December 24, 2002 until January 31, 2003 for their new Shelter of Hope. A total of 22 dogs were cared for by the Clarington Animal Services staff. Four of the dogs were adopted to new homes from our shelter, with one refund because of illness. Thirteen dogs were redeemed by their owners from our shelter and five dogs were returned to the new Shelter of Hope on January 31st. We also added the Shelter of Hope's dogs to our listing on our Petfinder website which has resulted in 2 of the 5 dogs being adopted since their return to the Shelter of Hope. The total income generated from impound fees and adoption fees from the dogs was $837.00.
