THAT the minutes of the Special Meeting of the Committee of the Whole, held on May 19th, 1970, be approved. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-362 Moved by Con. Hooper, seconded by Con. Allin. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Law No. 70-24, being a by-law to provide for the expenditure of $20,500 for the replacement of the bridge at Jackman Road, and that the said by-law be now read a first time. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-363 Moved by Con. Prout, seconded by Con. Cobban. THAT the second reading of By-Law No. 70-24, be approved. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-364 Moved by Con. "CARRIED" In connection with Resolution fCW-182, the Mayor appointed Councillor Allin, Deputy Reeve Stephen and Reeve Dykstra to act on a committee to liaison with the Board of Education, as suggested in a brief from the Association of Ontario Mayors and Reeves. THAT in view of the comments on Bert Snowdon's bid, with regard to the items left out of the specification (in his opinion), the tenders be held in abeyance pending clarification. THAT the Mayor, Reeve and Clerk-Administrator be authorized to accept the lowest bid for the Church Street widening which conforms to specifications. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-3SS Moved by Con. THAT the Clerk-Administrator be requested to contact the Oshawa Wood Products to find out if they have completed their construction operations on Saunders Avenue, and if so, request them to remove the builder's hut and clean up the vacant lot. "CARRIED" e Future Meetings Jackman Road Bridge Fire Department Mutual Aid Lunch Conference Of Association Of Ontario Mayors And Reeves Adjournment e - 7 - It was agreed that until further notice, there will be one Committee of the Whole meeting on the fourth Monday of the month and one Council meeting on the first Monday of the month, with emergency meetings at the call of the Chair. THAT after the meeting is adjourned, a meeting of the Committee of the Whole be held immediately to discuss Proctor & Redfern's report on the proposed replacement of the Jackman Road bridge. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-3S9 Moved by Con. Hooper, seconded by Con. Prout. THAT the Fire Chief be authorized td entertain members of the Mutual Aid meeting to lunch at an estimated cost of $35.00. "CARRIED" Mayor Hobbs made a verbal report on the Conference of the Association of Ontario Mayors & Reeves, recently held at Windsor- and advised that he had filed dfreailed reports in the Clerk-Administrator's office for the convenience of the other members of Council to peruse as required.
