"CARRIED" Permits re Service Stations Several points to be included in a by-law to require the closing of gasoline service stations during certain hours were discussed by Council. THAT A letter be written to the owner of the Bowmanville Hotel advising that Council recommends the installation of a hood placed over the exhaust end of the fan in the east wall to dellect the noise north. THAT whereas the Board of Works Committee meeting falls on the next day following the second regular meeting of Council, that the February meeting of the Board of Works Committee be cancelled. "CARRIED" e e - 8 - Dogs run- ning at. large Councillor Bourke read to Council an offer to purchase from L. & L. Tools of 2~ acres of land on Simpson Avenue at. a rate of $1,500.00 per acre conditional upon on the Public Utilities Commission supplying a trans~ormer on the pole to supply 550 volts. The offer further stipulated that agreement was to be made within ten days. A letter from P.U.C. quoted a price of $1,015.37 to supply and install two 225 KVA transformers. Council agreed that Councillor Bourke should attend a Public Utilities Commission meeting on February 8, 1966 t.o discuss the matter of supplying 550 volts. Councillor Hughea advised Council that he had been informed that there was no rabies this side of the Scugog marshes. Resolution #C-I08 Moved by Con. Hughes, seconded by Con. Oke. THAT upon official confirmat.ion being received from Dr. Harris, the Dog Control Committee be directed to permit dogs to run at large within the limits of the Town of Bowmanville for two months, February and March.
