Bowmanville, Ontario Minutes Repeal of B/L 1958 Strike & Strike O.W.R.C. request for observation well Minutes of the regular meeting of Council held in the Council Chambers on the above date at 7:30 p.m. with His Worship Mayor Ivan M. Nicks Absent: Reeve Councillor Resolution #C-IOO Moved by Con. Chant, seconded by Con. Bourke. THAT the minutes of the regular meeting of Council held Monday, February 7th, 1966 be approved. "CARRIED" Mr. Stubington read to Council a petition on behalf of eleven sertice station operators requesting the repeal of By-law No. 1958 as it did not comply with the intentions of the original petition. Resolution #C-10l Moved by Con. Rundle, seconded by Con. Oke. THAT Council agree with the request contained in the petition for By-law No. 1958 to be rescinded. THAT the request by the Ontario Water Resouces Commission for installation of an observation well on the Bowmanville Sewage Treatment Property be referred to the Public Utilities Commission. Village of THAT the request from the Village of Newcastle for a meeting Newcastle with Council to discuss the Dog Control agreement be referred to the Finance Committee. THAT Council concur with the resolution passed by Goderich Town Council with regard to the payment by the Governments of Ont- ario and Canada of at least 50% of the cost of sewage treatment projects. Chant. THAT the third and final reading of By-law No. 1960 be approved. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-llS Moved by Con. Chant, seconded by Con. Bourke. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law No. 1961, being a By- law to provide for certain exemptions for farm lands assessed in parcels of not less than 5 acres and said By-law be read a first time. "CARRIED- Resolution #C-120 Moved by Deputy Reeve Fice, seconded by Con. Bourke. THAT the third and final reading of By-law No. 1961 be approved. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-121 Moved by Con. Hughes, seconded by Con. Oke. THAT the Capital Forecast for the years 1966 to 1970 inclusive as presented be approved for submission to the Ontario Municipal Board. "CARRIED- Resolution #C-122 Moved by Con. Chant, secmnded by Con. Bourke. THAT the motion of the Public Property Committee approving the purchase of lockers for the Works Department Shed be approved. THAT the Clerk write a letter to the Department of Highways re- questing their consideration for the installation of lighting on both sides of Highway 401 at the Liberty Street interchange. "CARRIED" Appt. of pound & poundkeeper Tenders re Police Cruiser Recreation Dept. e e - 5 - In the ma~ter of the old Dance Hall at the East Beach, it w4s agreed that a letter be written to ask Mr. Strike for advice for presentation at the next meeting of Council.
