THAT the minutes of the Public Property Committee held on
March 10, 1966 be approved.

Mr. R. Dykstra appeared with members of the West End Business
Men's Association in support of their request to Council for
financial assistance with the maintenance of the West End
Parking Lot.
Council pointed out that they had no authority for expending
public funds on private property, but cited cases where Town
equipment had been loaned under certain conditions. With re-
gard to the use of the parking lot by Arena patrons, it was
suggested that the Association meet with the Arena Commission.

THAT the Roads and Streets Committee investigate the matter and
report back.

Mr. Russell Branch inquired from Council as to the status of a
storm sewer project on Prospect Street. Mr. Branch was advised
that the storm sewer was included in this years program. A
question of widening Veterans Avenue North was referred to the
Roads and Streets Committee for investigation.
Mr. Harold Wheeler inquired whether a report had been made on
garbage collection at West Beach. Mr. Wheeler was advised
that Council was meeting with the Planning Board to consider
the matter.

THAT Council appoint a representative to the Bowmanville Chamber
of Commerce.

The Mayor appointed Councillor A. Oke as representative.
With regard to the Bowmanville Chamber of Commerce and :Christmas
lighting, Council reviewed the action taken by last years Council.

advising of an earlier decision to refer their request to the
