Mr. Ken Hooper read a prepared statement to Council relative
to matters affecting the Arena l~anagement Board and the Gamble
Hockey School.
Mr. Don Welsh, Projects Committee, Bowmanville Kinsmen Club,
spoke concerning the land behind the Registry Office. Mr.
Welsh suggested that whereas but for a misunderstanding on
the part of Council, the Kin~men Club would probably have
purchased the said land for $3 500 and if Council is success-
ful in acquiring the land for ~7,000, that it be sold to the
Kinsmen for ~3,500. The Mayor pointed out that Council was
restricted in its' authority to sell land below the appraised
value. Suitable alternate sites would be investigated and
reported to the Kinsmen.
