Little Resolution #C-50 Moved by Con. Bourke, seconded by Con. Nicks. THAT the minutes of the regular meeting of Council held on January 16, 1967, be approved. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-51 Moved by Deputy Reeve Fice, seconded by Con. Bourke. THAT the minutes of the Special meeting of Council held on January 31, 1967, be approved. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-52 Moved by Con. Nicks, seconded by Con. Bourke. THAT the minutes of the Fire Committee meetings held on January 26, 1967 and January 31, 1967, be approved. Mrs. Frank re: Culverts Scugog St. "CARRIED" Mrs. V. Frank, of Scugog Street, rose to speak to Council requesting that culverts be placed in the present open ditch on the east side of Scugog Street, north from O'Dell Street. IJ!rs. Frank complained that the "ditch is a menace". She went on to describe what happened when the sanitary sewer backed up recently and while compensation was promised, this did not in anyway alleviate the smell and all the trouble a person is put to in a case like that. Mrs. Frank stated that Mr. Van- Bridger had advised her that the Town should put HI a storm sewer on the east side of Scugog. Council advised Mrs. Frank to attend the next meeting of the Public Utilities Commission. e e - 2 - Mr. J. Hoskin Mr. J. A. Hoskin, Animal Control Officer complained to Council re: complaint that Councillor Nicks was undermining his authority. Presentation - Royal Canadian Legion United Counties Sunset Nursing Home nurham County District High School Board Onto School Trustees Association Christian Business Men's Committee Arena The Mayor on behalf of Council, presented to the President of the Hoyal Canadian Legion, Branch 178, a photograph of the H.M.C.S. Bowmanville. It was felt that as the ship's bell now hung in the Legion Hall, it was appropriate to hang the picture there as well. Resolution #C-54 Moved by Con. Hughes, seconded by Con. hundle. THAT advice from the Sunset Nursing Home with regard to a rate increase be received and filed. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-56 Moved by Con. Hughes, seconded by Con. Oke. THAT a request from the Durham County District High School Board for Council to provide for access to the proposed high school site on Liberty Street from King Street be referred to the Planning Board for their recommendation to Council. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-57 Hoved by Con. Nicks, seconded by Con. Hundle. THAT correspondence from the Ontario School Trustees Association with regard to the 1967 Convention be received and filed and that the Clerk be instructed to write for copies of the minutes of that conference. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-58 Moved by Con. Nicks, seconded by Con. Hundle. THAT an invitation to attend a Civic Night dinner sponsored by the Christian Business Men's Committee be received and filed. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-59 Hoved by Con. Oke, seconded by Deputy Reeve Fice. THAT Councillor Nicks be authorized to approach the Bowmanville Kinsmen Club to invite the Club to finance the cost of bringing the present Arena refrigeration plant to a certain horsepower rating that does not require the full time attendance of an operator. THAT the statement .of accoun~s for the month ofJanua~y, 1967 including cheques #15992 to #16000 and cheques #l to 9322 inclusuve, in the total amount of $73,154.26 be approved. THAT notice from the Durham County District High School Board inviting Council to attend the opening of their new vocational addition to Courtice Secondary School on Friday evening, March 3, 1967 be received and filed. Senior Citizens Apartment THAT a sketch be prepared of the 1 and behind the Registry Office showing the dimensions of the land and indicating thereon the area required for a 20 unit apartment for senior citizens. Gift - Mary Jane Oke & Victor Irving THAT the Clerk be authorized to purchase in a total amount of approximately $50.00, suitable gifts for presentation to Mary Jane Oke and Victor Irving at the figure skating carnival in April, in recognition of their becoming the 1967 Canadian Junior Pairs Champions.
