Nicks Resolution #C-95 Moved by Con. Hughes, seconded by Con. Prout. THAT the minutes of the regular meeting of Council held on February 20, 1967, be approved. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-96 Moved by Con.Hughes, seconded by Con. Prout. THAT the minutes of the Finance Committee meeting held on February 21, 1967, be approved. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-97 Moved by Con. Oke, seconded by Con. Rundle. THAT the minutes of the Welfare and Civic Committee meeting held on February 22, 1967, be approved. THAT the minutes of the Board of Works Committee meeting held on February 28, 1967, as amended to approve the payment of Judy Fice and Janice Moses of $9.00 each for assistance rendered at the recent clinic for vaccination against rabies, be approved. "CARRIEDlt Mr. Ross Stevens appeared as a deputation to bring to the attention of Council facts that should be known to all members. Mr. Stevens referred to three points - I. The proposed deep 21" diameter sanitary sewer to be constructed east from Liberty Street to Simpson Avenue along Parkway Avenue, which Mr. Stevens felt should be constructed in conjunction with work to be done by Mr. Flett and in accordance with a report prepared by Proctor and Redfern, Consulting Engineers, dated March 1, 1967. Consideration should be given to the replacement of sewer laterals originally constructed as private sewers. 3. A filtration plant is soon to be required and Mr. Stevens questioned whether a proposed capital expenditure presently contemplated by Council would jeopardize the construction of such a plant when required because of the debt situation. THAT advice from Alex Carruthers M.P.P. with regard to a resolution on exempting certain purchases made by municipal- ities from retail sales tax be received and filed. THAT the apportionment of cost to acquire the Heber Down Conservation Area by the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority as detailed in a letter dated February 28, 1967, be approved. Prout, seconded by Con. Hughes. THAT the statement of accounts for the month of February, 1967, including cheques #323 to #529 inclusive, in the total amount of $122,35l.69 be approved. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law No. 67-6, being a by-law to provide for the 1967 expenditures on roads and streets ($45,000.00), and the the said by-law be now read a first time. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law No. 67-7, being a by-law to authorize the execution of an agreement between the Town of Bowmanville, the Township of Darlington, the Township of Clarke and the Village of Newcastle for ambulance service, and that the said by-law be now read a first time. . THAT the recommendation of the Court of Revision to write off uncollectable taxes totalling $2,327.38, pursuant to the provisions of Section 244 of The Assessment Act, be approved. "CARRIED" Police Cruiser Resolution #C-116 Moved by Deputy Reeve Fice, seconded by Con. Oke. THAT the lowest tender submitted by Robson Motors on the supply of a 1967 Police Cruiser at a cost of $1,425.40, be accepted. "CARRIED" Dead and Decayed Trees Resolution #C-117 Moved by Deputy Reeve Fice, seconded by Con. Hughes. THAT a quotation of $740.00 submitted by Cedarvale Tree Surgeons for the cutting to near ground level and the cutting up to hand size, of 25 dead and decayed trees, be accepted. THAT approval be given to the Civic Committee to proceed with plans to hold a horse show, ~o which admission will be free, in observance and celebration of Canada's Centennial.
