Little His Worship Mayor Hobbs welcomed a group of Girl Guides from Mapel Grove area. The Guides were accompanied by]vIrs. Clifton and the address of welcome by the Mayor was ably replied to by one of the girls. Resolution #C-164 Moved by Con. Nicks, seconded by Con. Bourke. THAT Council agree to a parade by the Florence Nightingale Lodge of I.O.O.F. on Sunday, April 30, 1967 and the matter be referred to the Police Department. "CARHIED" Resolution #C-167 Moved by Con. THAT Council endorse the resolutions passed by the Council of the Town of Orangeville urging the Province to establish a wage scale for teachers and calling for some control over the type of school construction. THAT greetings on Council joining the Lake Ontario Regional Development Council and advice of a zone conference on May 3,.1967, be received and filed. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-171 Moved by Con. Nicks, seconded by Con. Rundle. THAT the two delegates, Councillor Bourke and Clerk-Controller Byron be appointed to the Lake Ontario Regional Development Council. "CARRIED" Hesolution #C-172 Moved by Con. Nicks, seconded by Con. Bourke. THAT information from the Department of Economics and Development relative to the H.O.M.E. Plan be received and fil ed. THAT a request to deed a strip of land to the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company between land owned by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, commonly referred to as Raynes Street be approved and the natter be referred to Strike & Strike with the provision that all costs incurred with the transfer of ownership be r~et by the said Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. THAT a letter expressing thanks to members of the Fire Department for their efforts at a fire on April 3 from Mrs. Dudley Deeley be received with appreciation and filed. THAT the low tender of $1,238.36 submitted by Lundy Fence Company for the construction and supply of fencing of a walkway between Summerfield Court and Sunset Road be accepted. THAT a letter be sent to the Public Utilities Commission requesting that the street lights be turned on earlier and asking for regular checks to be made to ensure the lights are on as soon as it becomes dark.
