THAT the matter of proposed County Road #57 be referred to the Board of Works Committee meeting on February 27, 196$ and that Alex Carruthers M.P.P. and Mr. George Vice be invited to attend. Department of Highways Trent University Chamber of Commerce re Christmas Lighting Museum Board e e - 3 - Mrs. Victoria Frank spoke to Council again on the damages to her property caused by a back up of sewage in 1967. Mrs. Frank estimated the amount of the damages as being between $700 and $800. Resolution #C-64 Moved by Con. Fry, seconded by Con. Nichols. THAT the Public Utilities Commission be requested to reconsider the circumstances of ro1rs. THAT membership be renewed in the Lake Ontario Regional Development Council. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-66 Moved by Con. Shackelton, seconded by Con. Prout. THAT Council agree to the following proposals made by the Department of Highways: 1. The transfer to the Town of Bowmanville after construction of the new highway from Scugog Street to Martin Road in preparation for the designation of this new road as a Connecting Link. 2. The transfer to the Town of Bowmanville of the new connecting road between the new highway and Waverley Road. 3. The reversion of those portions of old Highway No. 2 to the Town of Bowmanville which are to remain open and in use. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-67 Moved by Con. Prout, seconded by Con. Shackelton. THAT an offer by the BOWffianville Chamber of Commerce to donate the Christmas Decorative Lighting to the Town of Bowmanville and to contribute $200 annually toward its maintenance be accepted and a letter of thanks be sent. "CARRIED" Mayor Hobbs questioned the usefulness of continuing the functions of the Emergency Measures Organization particularly in view of similar consideration being given in other Counties.
