THAT the minutes of the regular meeting of Council, held on February 5, 1968 be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Resolution IC-97 Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Con. Nichols. Special Board THAT the minutes of the Special Board of Works Meeting held on February 6, of Wo~ks 1968, be approved as printed. THAT the minutes of the Industrial COIIllIlission meeting held on February 9, 1968, be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-99 Moved by Con. Coombes, seconded by Con. Dykstra. THAT the minutes of the Special Council meeting held on February 10, 1968, be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Resolution #0-100 Moved by Reeve Oke, seconded by Deputy Reeve Rundle. THAT the minutes of the Board of Works meeting held on February 10, 1968, be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Messrs W. Carruthers, R. Hendry and S. Buttery were present with the first named as spokesman, requesting Council to reconsider the subject of allowing "farm rebates" pursuant to Section 37 of The Assessment Act. Mr. Carruthers referred to sewers not benefitting farm lands as well as garbage collection, which if it was necessary it be charged to residences at least it should not apply to farm lands. Nichols, seconded by Con. Coombes. THAT the Clerk prepare the necessary by-law to aUow exemption from taxation for certain expenditures of services'from which farm lands do not benefit from. Licence re Taxi Cab THAT George Almond be granted a licence to operate a taxi cab subject to his meeting the requirements under the by-law. "CARRIED" Resolution 4fC-112 Moved by Con. Senior Elementary School THAT the request of the Public School Board to build and equip a new senior elementary school be referred for inclUSion in the Capital Expenditure forecast. THAT Daylight Saving Time be proclaimed in the Town of Bowmanville effective 12:01 a.m. Sunday, April 28 until 12:01 a.m. Sunday, October 27. THAT the lowest tender in the amount of $1,498.36 including Provincial Sales Tax and licence submitted by Trent Auto Sales Limited on the supply of a 1968 4 door sedan for use as a police cruiser be accepted, subject to a courtesy car being made available during periods of service at no charge.
