Financial
Statements
Messrs. J. Scott and R. Gardner, Auditors, were present to
present the 1967 Auditor's Report and Financial Statements.
Mr. Scott mentioned that it had been a "trying" year getting
all the information and past history. However, this had
been accomplished and the situation was now satisfactory.
Mr. Scott reviewed the Statements page by page with Council.

THAT the third and final reading of By-law No. 68-13 be
approved.
"CARRIED"
Fire Chief T. Lyle and several members of the Bowmanville
Volunteer Fire Department were present to protest that the
raise in pay was not adequate, that a Committee of the Fire-
men was not recognized by Council and that he held seventeen
resignations in his hand. The Clerk read from notes presented
by the firemen stating the nature of their requests.

THAT the request of the members of the Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment for an annual increase of $150.00, an additional tele-
phone in the Fire Station and short wave radios be approved.
