THAT the minutes of the Council Meeting held on August 6, 1968 be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-445 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rundle, seconded by Reeve Oke. THAT the minutes of the Special Meeting of Council held on August 26, 1968 be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Mr. Gary Cole asked Council what was to happen now that Council had acquired his cottage. Mr. Cole was advised that reference to Lot 13 (Mr. Co1e1s Cottage) in By-Law No. 68-25 was made in error and that the by-law would be repealed. Mr. Jack Parker spoke to Council concerning the removal of his cottage and the acquiring by the municipality of the land upon which the cottage stands. Resolution #C-446 Moved by Con. "CARRIED" e e - 7 - Dr. Keith Slemon spoke to Council concerning the Brief prepared by a Citizens Committee requesting a referendum asking electors if they wished to include certain community facilities in a proposed new composite school. Dr. Slemon referred to the old Town Hall auditorium as being outdated and that a new larger auditorium was required, a swimming pool could be put to a lot of practical use and anyone with experience in recreation knows the need during winter months, of a skating rink. New Composite School THAT arrangements be made to hold a plebiscite and submit a question to the electors asking if they are in favour of including an auditorium, an indoor swimming pool and outdoor skating rink in the con- struction of a proposed new composite school and to bear the cost by the issuance of debentures.
