Nichols, seconded by Deputy Reeve Rundle. THAT the minutes of the Council Meeting held on September 3, 1968 be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Resolution i/C-486 Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Deputy Reeve Rundle. THAT the minutes of the Public Works Committee Meeting held on September 4, 1968 be approved with the excep- tion of Hotion No. 4 which should read Lambs Lane instead of Lovers Lane. "CARRIED" Resolution 1IC-488 Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Con. Coombes. THAT the minutes of the Public Works Committee Meeting held on October 2, 1968 be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Mr. Mel Burgess enquired of Council about a decision respecting drainage past his property on Liberty Street. The matters had been held in abeyance pending the outcome of discussions between the Counties Engineer and T.K. Stewart. Deputy Reeve Rundle promised to speak to the Countie s Engineer on the next day. Mr. Forrest Dilling asked questions of Council con- cerning the manner of acquiring beach property by the municipality under the tax arrears procedure and as to the ownership of land in the beach area. e Complaint - Mr. Lucas Complaints re Beach OMERS Pension Benefits Licensing By-law e - 2 - Mr. Gary Cole also spoke to Council concerning the beach area. Mr. Len Lucas spoke of "substandard housekeeping" of certain properties on Jackman Road. It was suggested that the names of offenders be submitted to the Clerk for inve stigation. Resolution i/C-489 Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Con. Prout. THAT the complaint of Mr. Lucas be referred to the Public Works Committee for investigation. "CARRIED" Mr. Frank Whiteman concurred with Mr. Lucas, inviting members of Council to sit in his living room to view the nature of his complaint. He has noticed rats in the area and felt notice should be given requiring immediate action. Mr. Robert Milford complained to Council about being terrorized by young people at the beach. He felt the dance hall encouraged these people to gather at the beach which in turn leads to drinking, fighting and swearing. Resolution nc-490 Moved by Con. Prout, seconded by Reeve Oke. THAT permission be granted to hold the 1968 Santa Claus Parade and the Clerk to advise if and when the old fire hall Can be used for building floats. "CARRIED" Resolution DC-496 Moved by Con. Prout, seconded by Con. Nichols. THAT the Clerk be given permission to hire additional police officers for the santa claus parade. "CARRIED" Resolution DC-497 Moved by Con. Prout, seconded by Con. Coombes. THAT estimates submitted by W. T. Dempsey with respect to a storm sewer behind properties on Sunset Road be referred to the Finance Committee to consider the Town filling in the existing open ditch.
