Hinutes of Protection Committee August 26(68 THAT the adoption of the Minutes of Protection to Persons and Property Committee August 26, 1968 be approved and that the Motion - That the Chief of Police be authorized to hire two men be amended to read that the Clerk-Controller be authorized to adver- tise two probationary constables effective for January l, 1969. Shackelton, seconded by Con. Fry. Board of Horks I move that this Council dispense with all Board of Horks Committee meetings as of November 4, 1968. "CARRIED" e e - 5 - Reeve Oke queried overtime by employees of the Police Department, Works Department, Recreation Department and Clerk's office. Overtime by the Clerk's secre- tary was necessitated with the urgent necessity of preparing the 1969 Voters' List and Councillor Nichol s advised that Works Department employees serviced equipment on the weekend to have it in running order for use as soon as possible.
