Hayman Town Clerk, D. Oakes, 10: to 10:30 a.m. Resolution #CS-98-81 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Hamre THAT the minutes of the meeting held on May 25, 1981 be adopted as read. 'CARRIED' i Resolution #CS-99-81 Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT the minutes of the Special Meeting held on June 4, 1981 be adopted as read. "CARRIED' Resolution #CS-100-81 Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Taylor Carbon Monoxide THAT the report of the Durham Regional Health Unit regarding Levels in Police Carbon Monoxide levels in the Police and Fire Building, Church and Fire Building. Street, Bowmanville be referred back to the Director of Community Services for a second opinion on the solution of the problem and he report back to the Committee as soon as possible. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS-102-81 Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Hubbard Tour of Newcastle THAT the Director's report relative to Tour of Town of Programme and Newcastle Programme and Facilities scheduled for Facilities Friday, .June 26th, 1981 and the expense be accommodated in the Community Services Administration Travel Expense Account, 7603-203-000, be received for information and members of the Press be invited to go along. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS-103-81 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Hamre Master Recreation THAT the Director's report of firms contacted relative to Plan the Master Recreation Plan be received for information. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS-104-81 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Councillor Taylor Volunteer THAT the recommendation in the Clerk's report, dated June 3, Fireman 1981 be endorsed and the report of Fire Chief J. Hayman, Orono dated May 29, 1981 be approved and Mr. Norman B. Tillson, General Delivery, Orono, be employed as a replacement volunteer fire fighter for Station #3, Orono; and further that the appointment of Mr. Tillson to this post be subject to his satisfactorily completing a six months probationary period. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 3 - June 22, 1981 Resolution #CS-105-81 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Hamre Solina Athletic THAT the proposed by-law in the report of the Deputy Clerk Field dated June 17, 1981, establishing a Community Recreation Community Centre at Solina and establishing a Community Centre Board Centre and designating the composition of the Board be approved By-law and held for further input from the Board before the by-law is sent to Council. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS-106-81 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Councillor Hubbard Monthly Fire Report THAT the 1981 Monthly Fire Report for May be received for May 1981 information. "CARRIED" Resolution #CS-107-81 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Hubbard Regional THAT Report FC-7-81 be received for information and Fire Training Committee also congratulate the nine firemen who attended School the Regional Fire Training School held in Pickering Fire Department Headquaxters, June 8th to 12th, 1981 and received the Certificate of Firefighters issued by the Ontario Fire College. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 4 - June 22, 1981 Resolution #CS-109-81 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Hubbard Bowmanville Creek THAT the report of the Town Clerk, dated June 17, 1981 be Valley Land Clean- received and the request by the Bowmanville Anglers Association Up for Council's approval of a clean-up program for the Bowmanville Creek Valley lands be approved; and members of the Bowmanville File 16.7.104 ,Anglers Association be named as co-insureds on the Town's liability policy; and further that the Bowmanville Anglers Association, c/o Mr. David Lawson, 46 Doreen Crescent, Bowmanville be so advised; and further, that an Agreement be entered into delineating the area to be cleaned up, length of agreement, authority under which they operate and this be worked out in consultation with C.L.O.C.A. and the Community Services Department. "CARRIED" Community Services Committee - 6 - June 22, 1981 Soccer Pitches Councillor Hubbard informed the Committee that, in the capacity as Chairman of the Hydro Liaison Committee she had attended a meeting at the home of Mr. George Pithie relative to the Bowmanville United Youth Soccer and the need for more soccer pitches and that the B.U.Y.S.C. will be attending the Hydro Liaison Comnittee meeting as a delegation, Resolution #CS-115-81 Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT Councillor Hubbard's verbal report be received for information. ''CARRIED" Resolution #CS-116=81 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Hubbard Policy for THAT the Chairman contact the Treasurer imnediately relative to Community a Policy for Community Centre Boards, confer with the Town's Centre legal advisor and call a Special Meeting of the Comnittee, if Boards necessary with a recommendation on the manner of implementing the policy. ''CARRIED'' Resolution #CS--117-81 Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT the meeting adjourn at 12:05 p.m. 'CARRIED" REPORT #1 Mayor Rickard and Members of Council:- The following is a report of the meeting of the Community Services Committee held on June 22, 1981: 1. Tour of Newcastle Program and Facilities The Director's report relative to Tour of Town's Recreational Facilities scheduled for Friday, J = h, 1981 and the expense be accommodated in the Community Services Administration Travel Expense Account 7603-203-000 was received for information and the Press were invited to attend. 2. Volunteer Fireman - Orono It was recommended to Council that Mr. Norman B. Tillson, General Delivery Orono be employed as a replacement volunteer fire fighter for Station #3 Orono and further that the appointment of Mr. Tillson to this post be subject to his satisfactorily completing a six months probationary period. 3. Solina Athletic Field Community Centre By-law It was recommended to Council that the proposed by-law establishing a Community Recreation Centre and Board and designating the composition of the Board at Solina be approved and held for further input from the Board before the by-law is sent to Council. 4. Monthly Fire Report for May 1981 The monthly fire report for May 1981 was received for information. 5. Regional Fire Training School The Fire Chief's report relative to the attendance of 9 firemen - at the Regional Fire Training School held in Pickering Fire Department Headquarters, June 8th to June 12th, 1981 be received and the firemen who received the Certificate of Firefighters issued by the Ontario Fire College be congratulated. 6. Bowmanville Creek Valley Land Clean-up It was recommended to Council that the request by the Bowmanville Anglers' Association for approval of a clean-up program for the Bowmanville Creek Valley lands be granted and members of the Association be named as co-insureds on the Town's liability policy and further that the Association, c/o Mr. David Lawson, 46 Doreen Crescent, Bowmanville, be so advised; and further than an agreement be entered into delineating the area to be cleaned up, length of agreement, authority under which they operate and this be worked out in consultation with C.L.O.C.A. and the Community Services Department. - 2 - Report #1 7.
