Hobbs Mrs. A. D. Oke E. Rundle R. Dykstra L. Coombes M. Prout K. Shackelton C. Cooke M. McKnight Mr. Mario Veltri appeared before Council relative to Resolution #CW-196 and requested that Council grant him relief from the terms of the Subdivision Agreement which require him to stop the weeping tile drainage from entering the Sanitary Sewer. Resolution #C-622 Moved by Con. Cooke, seconded by Con. McKnight. THAT the minutes of a meeting of Council dated October 20th, 1969, be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-623 Moved by Con. Coombes, seconded by Con. Prout. THAT the minutes of a meeting of the Committee of the Whole, dated October 27th, 1969, be approved as printed, subject to the two following resolutions, #C-624 and #C-625, which would amend the minutes accordingly. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-624 Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Deputy Reeve Rundle. THAT no action be taken on Resolution #CW-196. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-625 Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Con. Coombes. THAT with regard to the first stage of the development in the Waver ley Gardens Subdivision, 132 lots, the weeping tile drainage be connected to the sanitary sewer, as the storm sewer is not placed deep enough to take the gravity flow. THAT the letter from Ontario Good Roads Association regarding resolutions for the Convention on February 23rd to the 25th, be received and filed. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-630 Moved by Con. Coombes, seconded by Con. Dykstra. THAT Council concur with the resolution of the Town of Mississauga dated October 14th, 1969, relative to licensing of Community Antenna Television Companies. THAT the Bowmanville Volunteer Fire Department be granted permission to hold a tag day on Friday, November 14th, 1969 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, November 15th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and that the Secretary-Treasurer be so advised. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Law No. 69-30, being a by-law to authorize the construction of road paving on Church Street, Division Street, Base Line and Simpson Avenue, and that the said by-law be now read a first time. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Law No. 69-31, being a by-law to appoint places for holding the next municipal election and for other purposes, and that the said by-law be now read a first time. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Law No. 69-32, a by-law to amend By-Law No. 1663, which is a by-law to provide for the installation of parking meters on certain streets in the Town of Bowmanville and to provide regulations relative to the parking of vehicles in the areas or zones where parking meters are installed and requiring the drivers of motor vehicles to make use of such meters and that the said by-law be now read a first time. McKnight, seconded by Con. Prout. THAT By-Law No. 1909 be amended to provide ahat all $50.00 licence fees charged to non-residents, be raised to $100.00. "CARRIED" Con. Dykstra reported on his meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and the local merchants regarding the litter problem. He said that a further report and recommendations would be forthcoming. Con. Dykstra also reported on the meeting of the sub-committee appointed to investigate the garbage problem at Bowmanville Zoo. He indicated that the Zoo was now receiving one residential and one commercial pick-up per week, which, for the time being, would be satisfactory. He said that the Committee would meet again and report to the Committee of the Whole. e Anti-Pollution Conference At Montreal Increase In Treasurer's Salary Pipe Crossing Agreement With C. N. R. Adjournment e - 5 - Con. Coombes advised that he would submit two reports with regard to the conference which he recently attended. Resolution #C-645 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rundle, seconded by Con. THAT an adjustment of $300 per annum be made to Mr. Geboers salary with regard to his appointment as Treasurer in 1969 and that the 1970 Council give serious consideration to bringing the Treasurerls salary in line with surrounding municipalities. THAT pipe crossing agreement between Canadian National Railways and the Town of Bowmanville, having been approved by the Consulting Engineers, be hereby approved and the Mayor and Clerk-Administrator be hereby authorized to sign same.
