SUBJECT: Well Test Al. J. Hobbs School

With reference to the attached letter. from James A.
Bird, Business Administrator and Treasurer of the Northumberland
and Newcastle Board of Education .
In his letter of September 30th, 1980, the Board
of Education granted approval to the Town of Newcastle to have
a water test - taken on the pump house well at M. J. Hobbs.
h'urther approval was given to tie our well into the Schools
pump house . Seaattached well test sheet from Faulkner Well
Drilling Co. Ltd. .
In his letter of October 17th, 1980, the Board is
requesting that the Town confirm in writing, that it agrees
to accept the responsibility of the costs to supply water
to the School in the event that the supply is deleted by
installation- of new pump.
We are only using the new pump for water in the
evenings and weekends .
Recommend that their request be granted . See
attached letter from Mr . Junes 13ird .

Dear Mr . Fanning:
Further to our letter of September 30 , 1980 , we wish
to report that the Board, at its last Regular Meeting, was
advised that tests were conducted on the well at M. J. Hobbs
Senior Public School to determine its capacity.
The following information was presented:
Well Depth - 75'
Well Casing - 10"
Static Level - 110"
Test Pumping Rate - 15 G.P .M.
It is our understanding there will be a constant water
supply to the school following your installation of a pump
at 55 ' 0" . We would request, however, that the Town confirm,
in writing , that it agrees to accept the responsibility of
the costs to supply water to the school in the event that
the water supply is depleted by the installation of the new
PUMP.
