FOR THE MEETINGS OF NOVEMBER 19, 1987 & DECEMBER 17, 1987
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-14-88 be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
For the information of the General Purpose and Administration Committee, Staff have
prepared the attached list of applications to the Committee of Adjustment for the
meetings of November 19, 1987 and December 17, 1987 . This list includes the file
number, applicant's name, site location, type of variance requested, Official Plan
conformity, By-law conformity, Staff's comments on the applications, and the
Committee of Adjustment's decision.

A 82/87 - R. Bruce Taylor - Lot 24, Conc. 7, Darlington
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to construct a 86 sq. m single family
dwelling, instead of the required 110 sq. m. single family dwelling.
Bruce Taylor and Mrs. Neil Taylor appeared in support of this
application. No other person appeared in support of or in opposition
to this application.
Moved by Mrs. Payne, seconded by Mr. Murdoch,
"THAT as the requested variance does not appear to
offend the intent of the Official Plan or Zoning By-law
or have a detrimental effect on the surrounding neigh-
bourhood and as the dwelling is for a partner in the
farm operation, this variance is considered minor in nature
and permission is GRANTED to construct a 85.5 sq. m single
family dwelling."

Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicaant to construct a single family dwelling,
having a rear yard of 6.9 m, instead of the required 7.5 m rear yard.
Lot 138, 1OM797.
Andy Kemperle appeared in support of this application. No other
person appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mr. Murdoch, seconded by Mr. Heming,
"THAT as the requested variance would not offend the
intent of the Official Plan or Zoning By-law or have a
detrimental effect on the surrounding neighbourhood,
this variance is considered minor in nature and
permission is GRANTED to construct a single family
dwelling having a rear yard of 6.9 m."

Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to continue the use of a single family
dwelling having a front yard of 5.97 m, instead of the required 6 m
front yard and a 1.13 m side yard, instead of the required 1.2 m side
yard. Lot 8, 10M 769, 111 Centerfield Dr.
No person appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.

"THAT as the requested variance is considered minor in
nature, appears to maintain the general intent and purpose
of the official Plan and Zoning By-law and appears to be
desireable for the appropriate development of the land,
permission is GRANTED to continue the use of a single
family dwelling having a front yard of 5.97 m and a side
yard of 1.13 m."

Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to continue the use of a single family
dwelling with a porch projecting into the front yard a distance of 2.4
m, instead of the required not more than 1.5 m into any required yard.

D. Lymer, J. DeJong and John Buzas appeared in support of this
application. No other person appeared in support of or in opposition
to this application. Mrs. Payne declared conflict of interest with
this application.

"THAT as the requested variance would appear to maintain
the general intent and purpose of the Official Plan and
Zoning By-law and is desirable for the appropriate
development of the land, the variance is considered minor
in nature and permission is GRANTED to continue the use
of a single family dwelling with a porch projecting into
the front yard a distance of 2.4 m."

"THAT as the requested variance is considered minor in
nature, and would be desireable for the appropriate
development of the land, this variance would appear to
maintain the general intent and purpose of the Official
Plan and Zoning By-law and permission is GRANTED to
create a lot with a frontage of 61.6 feet and an area
of 4976 sq. ft."

Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to construct a 720 sq. ft. accessory
building, which would exceed the maximum requirement of not more than
40% of the main building total floor area.
Mr. Willis appeared in support of this application. No other person
appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mr. Heming, seconded by Mrs. Payne,
"THAT as the requested variance would appear to maintain
the general intent and purpose of the Official Plan and
Zoning By-law and would appear to be desirable for the
appropriate development of the land, permission is
GRANTED to construct a 720 sq. ft. accessory building
This variance is conditional that the building be accessory
to the residential use and not used for Commercial
Purposes."

"THAT the Committee Members, along with Mr. Edwards,
meet to interview the five selected candidates for the
position of Secretary Treasurer as soon as possible."

"THAT the Director of Planning be requested to submit a
re-evaluation of the Committee of Adjustment fee
structure."
