SUBJECT: REZONING APPLICATION - LEONORA NICHOLLS
PART LOT 25, CONCESSION 1, FORMER TWP. OF DARLINGTON

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
I. THAT Report PD-48-86 be received; and
2. THAT the application submitted by Ms. Leonora Nicholls, to rezone a parcel of land
located in Part Lot 25, Concession 1, former Township of Darlington to permit the
development of a Group Horne be received and referred to Staff for processing and a
subsequent report and public meeting.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On February 6, 1986, the Planning Department received an application for rezoning from
Ms. L. Nicholls to permit the development of a Group Home.
The application has been circulated, in accordance with departmental procedure, to various
agencies and Town departments for their comment.

Accordingly, it is recommended that the application be received for
information and referred back to Staff for the preparation of a subsequent
report.

The Town of Newcastle Planning and Development Committee is considering an
application for an amendment to Zoning By-law # 84-63 and, pursuant to its
procedure for processing applications, wishes to obtain your comments before
submitting its recommendations to the Town of Newcastle General Purpose and
Administration Committee.
The application is summarized as follows:

9. Proposed Use and Description of Applicant's Project: Group Home for 6
mentally handicapped young adults

there are no objections to the approval of the subject application.
