SUBJECT: EXTENSION OF DRAFT APPROVAL

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-24-86 be received; and
2. THAT the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing be advised that the Town of
Newcastle has no objection to the extension of draft plan approval for
Subdivision 18T-75526 for a further one (1) year period to June 11, 1987.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On January 8, 1986, the Planning Department received a letter (attached) from
Aitchison, Starzynski , Evans & Bolotenko, the solicitors acting for Veltri and Sons
Corporation. The letter indicates that the draft plan approval of Subdivision
18T-75526 will lapse on June 11, 1986.

Staff have reviewed the status of the proposed subdivision and it is
recommended that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing be advised
that the Town of Newcastle has no objection to the extension of draft plan
approval for Subdivision 18T-75526 for a further one (1) year period to June
11, 1987.

Veltri purchase from Schickedanz
Please be advised that we are the solicitors acting on
behalf of Veltri and Son Limited with respect to the above
referenced matter.
It is our understanding that draft approval of the above
noted plan of subdivision has been extended to June 11, 1986.-'
Our client in purchasing the above noted property will
require an extension of this draft approval for a further year
to June 11, 1987. Would you kindly accept this correspondence
as a request to present a delegation in this regard at the
Council meeting scheduled for Monday, January 13 , 1986 , at
9:30 a.m. Your telephone confirmation in this matter would be
greatly appreciated.
