Wrap Up Meeting

VALERIE MCCDRMICK -Chairperson
• Val thanked everyone for all of their work
• Val has stepped down as Parade Chair
• Committee to think about name for new Chair
• Letter from Fair Ambassador-thank you letter
• Decide on theme for next years parade tonight
KATHY MCLAUGHLIN - Publicity
• Heard that St. Andrews Church as disqualified from Judging, that was the
only complaint
TRACEY BAYLEY-BUCKLE - Make Up
• Make up went fine, there was lots of help
■ Juice was good for children
■ Bowmanville Zoo was handing out material and had their shirts on
■ Dalmations had to walk through horse poo from downtown Historical Filler
LISA KOWAL-Volunteer Co-Ordinator
■ More Walkie Talkies are needed, and pass one to Lisa when parade starts
MARIE HAMMOND-Treasurer
• Donations are down this year $5,810.00 (2008) compared to $6,150.00 (2007)
• Marie to submit grant proceedings for $2,00.00 or$2,500.00
• Band cost was down $6,500.00
• Terryl did a great job
• Button Sales-T. Watson would like to attend a Parade meeting, share ideas
with committee
• Majority of programs given to Clarington Project
• Clowns maybe handout programs look at next year- possible
• Presellling buttons- next year, is a huge project look at next year
• Maybe have meeting early say the Spring to look at Button Sales
SHERI CRACO- Bands
• Walkie talkies -wrong people had them, do we need more?
■ If there is a change in the program how do we got information to
Commentators
• Many good comments
Sheri has handed in her resignation
Tracey has a friend that will take over Bands. Sheri will coach person closer
to parade
DAWN LONCMIRE - Buttons, Costumes
• Has a cheque for $54.47 for Postage Rebate
• Costumes were very wet. Tracey took some to clean as well as friends of
Dawns too some
• Call from an upset person, as they did not recognize Parade entries, did not
get a program
• Committee Float was late coming to start of parade
• Liberty and Church street concern Re closure
• Flow was good - re pacers
• Should we sent thank you letters for participating in parade
• Judges- discussion on how long judges take to judge
• Could we add another Category "Best theme"
• Is there time enough to add one more Category
ROGER LETOOZE-Judging/PosterS/Rogers Cable/Buttons and Button boxes
• All good except for Commentary
• 9,000 Buttons, on bill only states 8475 why are we charged for 9,000
• Clarington Project backed out because of weather
Santa Battery was not working
• Judging was slow, maybe require a cart
TERRYL TZIKAS-Secretary
• Could we extend boundaries -Wellington - Baseline instead of Church -
Wellington
• Railway track- someone at Wellington/Scugog, need police officer at track
THIS IS IMPORTANT
• Roger did a great job
• Look at each person's job for Parade day
• Camaros -still having issues-will not be invited to next years Parade
• Like idea that we sell buttons early
■ No complaints that day
• Baton Club- Logos were taped up
DEBBIE FERNANDES- Floats and Fillers
• Santas float there was advertising for Graydon Brown
• Horse - had no one with them to clean up mess
• Buttons/programs could be sold at beginning of parade
• Camaros rude in front of children
• Teens 4 Teens did good job
