APPEALS FROM DECISIONiS OF DiRLINGTON
COMMITTEE OF 1iDJUSTIffNT
Appeals from three decisions of the former Darlington Committee of Adjust-
ment are scheduled for hearing by the OMB on May 23 and 24.
1. Application B85/73:
This was an application for consent to sever 3 lots on the main street
of the hamlet of Tyrone one of which contained an existing schoolhouse.
The three lots were undersized for the R3 zone in which they were
located and by creating two lots instead of three, the applicant could
have complied with the by -law.
2. Application B87/73:
This was an application for consent to sever a one acre lot with an
existing dwelling on Courtice Road north. The remainder is an 18 acre
parcel which could be used as a building lot fronting directly on a
Regional Road in a rural area contrary to Section 3 (7A) of the
Darlington Official Plano
3. 1pplication B84/73:
This was an application for consent to sever a 1.84 acre parcel front-
ing on the west side of Regional Road 57 contrary to Section 3 (7111)
of the Darlington Official Plan. Frontage on the Regional Road is
clearly not necessary in this case since the parcel also abuts on the
Old Scugog Road and access is available on that side. I recommend
that Council should support the decision's of the Committee of 21djust-
ment in these three cases and that counsel should be appointed to
represent the Town.
Respectfully submitted,
'George F. Howden,
Planning Director.
