REZONING APPLICATION FOR R. STEVENS
k6q
Members will recall that an amendment was recommended to the Bowman -
ville Official Plan to allow Mr. Stevens to construct a house on his
land on the south side of Concession Street Extension. This amendment
has been appro -ted by Town Council, the Regional Planning and Develop-
ment Committee and Regional Council. It is now awaiting the ministers
approval. Mr. Stevenb lot, it will be recalled, fronted in part onto
the opened portion of Concession Street Extension and partly onto the
unopened portion. Mr. Stevens has agreed to construct his driveway
to enter onto the opened portion of the street. In fact he could not
do otherwise without the Town's permission. It is now required to
implement this amendment by rezoning the site from Open Space to
Residential Estate. Assuming that the proposed new by-law for Bowman®
ville will passed shortly by Council, I would recommend that rather
than passing an amendment to the old by -law, (1587) Council should
simply change the zoning of Mr. Stevens land to RE in the new bylaw
This would avoid the problem of a zoning amendment come up before the
OMB after the main by-law which it amends has already been replaced.
Respectfully submitted,
G
G urge F. Howden,
Planning Director.
