RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-350-90 be received;
2 . THAT the Ministry of Municipal Affairs be advised that the Town of
Newcastle has no objections to the extension of draft approval for
subdivision 18T-76021 for a further one ( 1) year period.
3 . THAT a copy of Report PD-350-90 and Committee and Council's
recommendation be forwarded to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs;
the Regional Planning Department and all interested parties listed
in this report.
1. BACKGROUND
1. 1 On October 20, 1976, the Ministry of Housing circulated a proposed
Plan of Subdivision under file Number 18T-76021 to the Town of
Newcastle for comment. The subject lands comprised of a 3.0
hectare parcel of land on the south east corner of Baldwin and
Clarke Street located in Part Lot 28, Concession 1, former Township
of Clarke. The application originally proposed 30 single family
dwelling units on the above noted property. The plan underwent a
number of changes prior to finally receiving Draft Approval for
twenty-one (21) single family dwelling lots on June 30, 1980.

1.2 In August, 1989, Planning Staff received a request for comments on
a revised Plan of Subdivision for the subject land. The revised
proposal reduced the number of units by one ( 1) to twenty (20) .
On October 2, 1989 , Council recommended approval of the revised
plan. In December of 1989 Ministry of Municipal Affairs extended
Draft Approval on the subject revised plan for an additional year.
1. 3 On November 7 , 1990, Staff received a copy of a letter from
Bramalea Limited to the Plans Administration Branch of the Ministry
of Municipal Affairs, requesting extension of Draft Approval on the
above noted plan.
1.4 Staff have reviewed the status of the proposed subdivision and the
revised conditions of Draft Approval as issued last November and
are satisfied that approval of the subject plan may be extended as
requested.
2 . RECOMMENDATION
2 . 1 In consideration of the status of the subject plan and the comments
contained within said report, Staff respectively recommended that
extension of Draft Approval be granted for an additional year.
