MECT: MONITORING OF THE DECISIONS OF THE COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-209-90 be received; and
2 . THAT Council concur with the decisions of the Committee of
Adjustment on Applications A 2/90, A 21/90, A 23/90 - A 39/90
Inclusive, A 41/90 & A 42/90 .
3 . THAT Staff be authorized to appear before the Ontario Municipal
Board to defend the decisions of the Committee of Adjustment in the
event of an appeal.
1. BACKGROUND
1. 1 The Committee of Adjustment heard applications on April 12,
April 26, May 10 and May 31, 1990. During that period, one
application (A 30/90) was TABLED once and subsequesntly approved
at the following meeting. The Committee dealt with a total of
twenty one (21) applications during the four (4) meetings;
Application A 36/90 was DISMISSED, as it was deemed not necessary;
Applications A 2/90 and A 21/90 were DENIED as they were not
considered to be minor in nature; and Application A 33/90 was
approved in part. The balance of the applications were all
APPROVED as applied for. Details for all applications are attached
herein for information. i

1.2 Staff have reviewed the decisions of the Committee and are
satisfied that the decisions conform to the general intent of the
Official Plan and the Zoning By-law and that the variances sought
are minor in nature.
1. 3 Council's concurrence with the Committee of Adjustment decisions
is required in order to afford Staff's official status before the
Ontario Municipal Board in the event of appeal of the decisions of
the Committee of Adjustment.
