OF CLARKE FILE: DEV 90-092 Recommendations: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report PD- 94 -91 be received for information; and 2 . THAT the interested parties listed in this report and any delegation be advised of Council 's decision. 1 . APPLICATION DETAILS 1. 1 Applicant: Frederick & Nancy Curd 1.2 Agent: Sam Cureatz 1 . 3 Rezoning: From in part Agricultural (A) and in part Environmental Protection to an appropriate zone in order to facilitate the creation of two (2) additional non-farm rural residential lots . 1 .4 Area: 2 hectares (4 . 94 acres) 2 . BACKGROUND 2 . 1 On November 1, 1990, the Town of Newcastle received an application submitted by Sam Cureatz on behalf of Frederick and Nancy Curd to rezone a 2 hectare parcel in order to facilitate the creation of two (2) additional non-farm rural residential lots . 2 REPORT NO. PD-94 -91 PAGE 2 2 .2 A Public Meeting was held on Monday January 7, 1991 at which time one area resident expressed concerns with respect to the erosion of the Bond Head Bluffs . In addition, as a result of the Public Notification process, Staff have received seven (7) letters of objection from area residents, all of which state concerns regarding the erosion of the Bond Head Bluffs, the proximity of the proposed dwellings to the Bluffs and possible negative impacts upon the environmentally sensitive area. 3 . STAFF COMMENTS 3 . 1 As a result of the negative comments received from various environmental agencies and the opposition to the application from the area residents, the agent for the applicants submitted a letter to the Town of Newcastle Planning and Development Department on March 22, 1991, formally withdrawing the application. 3 .2 The rezoning application file is now closed and those persons who previously voiced their concerns have been notified that the file is CLOSED.
