SUBJECT: CHARGES FOR MAP SALES

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-22-89 be received; and
2. THAT the attached schedule of fees be approved.
1. BACKGROUND:
The Planning and Development Department has, for many years, imposed charges
for sales of various types of maps produced by the Department. The intent
of the charges is to offset the cost of paper and printing. These fees have
not been increased for many years and the fees we currently charge are way
below the cost of reproduction and material. As a result, adjustment to the
fees is necessary.

2. SUMMARY OF PROPOSED FEE STRUCTURE:
Staff propose the new fee structure for most maps and plans be doubled
from the current charges. This will allow the municipality to recover
a fair share of the production, printing and material costs of various
maps and plans. However, in consideration of the fact that this
service may be needed by Town residents from time to time, we propose
the current fee be maintained with no increase for residents. A copy
of the fee aobw]ole is attached herein.
