THAT Report PD-40-92 be received; and 2 . THAT Council concur with the decisions of the Committee of Adjustment made at its meeting of January 23 , 1992 . 3 . THAT Staff be authorized to appear before the Ontario Municipal Board to defend the decisions of the Committee of Adjustment in the event of an appeal. 1. 1 The Committee of Adjustment heard five (5) applications on January 23 , 1992 . Three of the applications were APPROVED, one (1) was DENIED and one (1) TABLED and is rescheduled to be heard February 13 , 1992 . 1. 2 Application A 92/006 submitted by the Trinity United Church proposed a variance to permit the construction of an expansion requiring a variance to the rear yard setback of 1. 1 m (3 . 6 feet) and a reduction of the parking requirements from 74 spaces to none. Staff did not support the application as the application is not considered minor in nature or in keeping with the intent of the zoning by-law. Committee in their deliberation agreed that the variance was not minor in nature and therefore DENIED the application. oz3 REPORT NO. : PD-40-92 PAGE 2 1. 3 Staff have reviewed the balance of the decisions of the Committee and are satisfied that the decisions conform to the general intent of the Official Plan and the Zoning By-law and that the variances sought are minor in nature. 1. 4 Council's concurrence with the Committee of Adjustment decisions is required in order to afford Staff's official status before the Ontario Municipal Board in the event of appeal of the decisions of the Committee of Adjustment.
