PD-40-92 A92/002 to A92/006, inclusive By-Law#
Report#: File#:
Subject: MONITORING OF THE DECISIONS OF THE COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT
FOR THE MEETING OF JANUARY 23 , 1992
FILE: A92/001 to A 92/006 INCLUSIVE
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-40-92 be received; and
2 . THAT Council concur with the decisions of the Committee of
Adjustment made at its meeting of January 23 , 1992 .
3 . THAT Staff be authorized to appear before the Ontario
Municipal Board to defend the decisions of the Committee of
Adjustment in the event of an appeal.
1. 1 The Committee of Adjustment heard five (5) applications on
January 23 , 1992 . Three of the applications were APPROVED,
one (1) was DENIED and one (1) TABLED and is rescheduled to
be heard February 13 , 1992 .
1. 2 Application A 92/006 submitted by the Trinity United Church
proposed a variance to permit the construction of an expansion
requiring a variance to the rear yard setback of 1. 1 m (3 . 6
feet) and a reduction of the parking requirements from 74
spaces to none. Staff did not support the application as the
application is not considered minor in nature or in keeping
with the intent of the zoning by-law. Committee in their
deliberation agreed that the variance was not minor in nature
and therefore DENIED the application.
